  4. Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Op 61 - Ludwig van Beethoven

We celebrate the great concerto for violin written by Beethoven with a performance by Dewi Tudor Jones from the north west of England. Music by Brahms, Smetana and Dvorák completes this programme of wonderful compositions from 19th century Czechoslovakia and Germany. Conductor Edward Peak will talk to the audience about the music to be played and relationships to other similar works.

Liverpool has been awarded the title Unesco Creative City of Music and is very proud to have founded an emerging artist exchange scheme with other Creative Cities. Concerts hosted in Liverpool will include concerto performances by soloists from our partner cities.
