The London Medical Orchestra is delighted to return to St. Mellitus RC Church for its Christmas Concert.
As we approach the shortest day of the year, you will be uplifted by much loved classics that will mark out a journey from dark midwinter into radiant light. Mozart’s Magic Flute Overture sets the scene for an opera set in a mythical land between the sun and the moon. It is paired with Beethoven’s magnificent Fifth Symphony, which which overcomes its famously stormy opening as it moves towards its triumphant finale.
There will be something for everyone. The orchestra will accompany the Tottenham Community Choir, who will also sing without the orchestra. The audience is invited to participate lustily in singing carols, eating mince pies and drinking mulled wine.
Come along for a Christmas concert to lift the midwinter gloom!

The London Medical Orchestra was formed in 1954, consisting mainly of refugee doctors and dentists from central Europe. Although many of the present members of the Orchestra are not members of the medical or ancillary professions, the Orchestra continues to have as its main purpose the supporting of medical charities through fund-raising concerts. Among former conductors are Norman Del Mar, Colin Davis and Bernard Keefe. Sir Adrian Boult and Jacqueline du Pré are among our past Vice Presidents.
