“The Karolos Ensemble gave a hugely inspiring and stunning evening of music. These three world class soloists have created the most exquisite ensemble with a rich sound and remarkably intuitive playing.” - Amanda Cook, Artistic Director, Amici Series, Festival of Chichester, 2016

Bringing together internationally acclaimed performers, Karolos Ensemble is committed to seeking out new repertoire, as well as performing works from the canon. All the member of Karolos Ensemble are soloists in their own right and the individual members have recorded concertos with the Halle Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Nova and English Symphony Orchestra amongst many others. The group has embarked upon a series of performances and recordings of the superb chamber music of Stephen Dodgson. The first installment of this series comprises the two string trios, and solo works for violin, viola and cello, which were recorded in Potton Hall, 2014. The next installment includes works for the core string trio with added guitar, flute and harp. These recordings have been released on the Naxos Label to critical acclaim. Karolos Ensemble is keen to promote these works alongside gems of the standard repertoire, and has received highly enthusiastic responses to date for the performances of both.

Harriet Mackenzie is an internationally renowned concerto soloist and recitalist, and has performed across five continents. Harriet has recorded concertos with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the English Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Nova. These recordings have received National and International acclaim, including being chosen as ‘Editor’s Choice’ in Gramophone Magazine

Sarah-Jane has worked as a soloist with the Philharmonia, Halle, BBC SymphonyOrchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia and Northern Sinfonia. Her acclaimed solo recordings include 7 CDs of British viola concertos for Dutton Epoch, and two recital discs for Naxos.

Graham has performed as a solo and chamber cellist across Europe and North and South America; he regularly tours the USA, where in 2008 he performed all Bach’s Cello suites, an achievement he repeated around the UK, including during the Edinburgh International Festival. Graham is a highly respected choral conductor, and directs several choirs and orchestras; his first recording as a conductor, made when he was just 22
