Mihály Berecz was born in Budapest in 1997. At the age of seven he played violin; two years later he began to play piano studying with Major Edit; he continued studying at Szent István Király Music School with Erzsébet Korösiné Belák. He has won several prestigious piano competitions and his development has been followed by major artists such as Zoltan Kocsis, Rita Wagner and Tamás Vásáry.
At the Palace of Arts in Budapest on May 30, 2013 he performed, with Zoltán Kocsis conducting, Ravel’s piano concert in G major. He worked with such conductors as Zoltán Kocsis, Tamás Vásáry, György Vashegyi, Kálmán Záborszky, Gergely Ménesi and Tamás Gál. He was a guest of the Zugló Philharmonic Orchestra, the Miskolc Symphony Orchestra, the Košice State Concert Orchestra, the Concerto Budapest, the Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed in the Great Hall of the Academy of Music, the Bartók Béla National Concert Hall, the Hungarian State Opera House, the Pozsony State Philharmonic Hall, and at Berliner Konzerthaus, where he played the Hungarian fantasy of Ferenc Liszt in a prestigious international festival. He was also invited to the Faust Ball in the Opera House where he gave a solo concert.

His repertoire is extremely wide, from Baka to contemporary composers. Music critics have commended his sophisticated, stylish and sophisticated, yet liberated, energetic interpretations.
