Platform Concerts 27 Sep 2010 - 31 Aug 2017
The Platform Concert No 12
The series had its first concert in 2010 to serve as a platform to introduce Japanese musicians to the London audience (focusing on the winners of the All Japan Competitions and international competition to showcase the calibre of young Japanese musicians). This is the final concert of this series.
'It's more than two' Series will make a take-off from next season and this concert will also give a glimpse of the wonderful world of duo and four hands with 'Japan's most prominent Four Hands'.
The Platform Series have introduced 12 Japanese musicians in London from 2010. Sadly, the time has come to say good bye to our Platform Concert and we want to say Thank You with a superb piano duo.
Nobuhito Nakai and Miwako Takeda are notably considered Japan's foremost piano duo. Both pianists are prize winners of international piano competitions (Brahms, Maria Canals, Viotti Senegalia to name a few) on their own right formed a duo and successfully became prize winners of international duo competition and in addition, husband and wife. The only couple in Japan to be bespectacled with competition prizes for both piano solo and duo added the honor of being chosen as the recipient for the best choice CD by 'Record Art Magazine' for Dvorák's transcription of the New World Symphony for 4 hands on air in ANA flight entertainment during spring - summer period.
Nobuhito Nakai and Miwako Takeda, studied at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and further as post graduate studies in Munich. Nobuhito Nakai teaches at Toho Gakuen University, Nagoya Music University and Miwako Takeda at Toho Gakuen University and Ueno Gakuen University.
