  1. Piano Sonata No 2 - Gordon Crosse
  2. Fantasy Waltzes - William Alwyn
  3. Valses nobles et sentimentales - Maurice Ravel
  4. Sonata for Piano No 2 in B flat minor Op 36 - Sergey Rachmaninov

Pianist Daniel Grimwood returns to the Alwyn Festival to give a solo recital that includes two works that explore the waltz format in two very contrasting ways; a French and British view, both of which require virtuosity, grace and charm in equal measure. In complete contrast these two works sit alongside one of the major Russian solo piano works and a relatively new work from British composer Gordon Crosse who this year celebrates his 80th birthday. Do not miss the chance to hear this fascinating repertoire performed with style and elan by a new rising star of the piano.
