A committed chamber musician Savitri has collaborated with Susan Tomes, Christoph Richter, Steven Isserlis, Andrew Marriner and Alasdair Beatson, and regularly gives recitals with the Grier Trio with her father Francis and her sister Indira. Savitri was selected by Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) in 2015.

Richard Uttley was born in Bradford. He studied the piano with Ian Buckle; then at Clare College, Cambridge he studied music where he graduated with a Double First in 2008. He then went on to study at the Guildhall School with Martin Roscoe. Rolf Hind mentored him through the RPS/YCAT Philip Langridge Mentoring Scheme in 2014. He was then invited to attend Open Chamber Music at IMS Prussia Cove.

Richard teaches at the Guildhall School and City University and is also a trustee of New Dots, a charity which supports emerging composers and performers. This season includes a solo recital tour in China and tours to China and Columbia with Peter Moore, return visits to the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (HCMF) and Saffron Hall (solo recitals) and a concert in Wigmore Hall with Savitri Grier.

Richard is noted for his “musical intelligence and pristine facility interlock seamlessly” (International Record Review) and his “amazing decisiveness” and “tumultuous performance” (Ivan Hewett, Daily Telegraph). He is regularly broadcast on the radio and television.

Mark Tanner also said from the International Record Review ‘…compendious capacity for touch control … extremely refined, well considered and emotionally selfless … a pianist with something to say.’
