  2. The Lark Ascending Op 50 - Ralph Vaughan Williams
  3. Feel the Spirit - John Rutter

Vaughan Williams is best known for developing the concept of 'English' music, and was the most important and influential British composer between the eras of Elgar and Britten. In addition to his nostalgic setting of Matthew Arnold's poems this concert will include Vaughan Williams' most popular instrumental work - The Lark Ascending.

Also included in this concert is 'Feel the Spirit', a lively and complex work based on negro spirituals by the astonishingly successful composer and arranger John Rutter.
