Some of the repertoire from Phillip’s acclaimed CD series entitled The World’s Most Beautiful Melodies makes for a very attractive programme of romantic favourites for cornet, accompanied on the organ. Included are two very popular extracts by Sir Arthur Sullivan – Echoes of the Savoy [extracts from the famous G&S Savoy Operas] and The Lost Chord. Other music is by the American Frank Simon, a former Principal Cornet with the John Philip Sousa Band and by Slaithwaite-born Haydn Wood.
