London Pro Arte Choir perform Brahms's Ein deutsches Requiem

Brahms composed Ein deutsches Requiem in stages during the 1860s and it has become well-loved by performers and audience alike. Unlike the traditional Latin Mass, the German Requiem draws on Lutheran texts.

As performed at this concert, Brahms prepared a version of the Requiem to be accompanied by piano duet, perhaps for use in a domestic setting.
