All of us at Kent Chamber Choir are delighted to share a concert of inspiring choral music with the fine young singers of Medway Youth Choir. We join forces in movements from two much-loved masterpieces accompanied by our virtuoso organist, Malcolm Riley: the exhilarating Gloria from Johann Sebastian Bach's Mass in B minor and Johannes Brahms's How lovely are thy dwellings from his German Requiem.

You'll hear more favourites in Medway Youth Choir's own programme which includes Bach's Jesu, joy of man's desiring, Bob Chilcott's delightful Irish blessing and Hubert Parry's My soul, there is a country far beyond the stars.

Kent Chamber Choir's group features Thomas Weelkes's passionate anthem When David heard that Absalom was slain, Zoltán Kodály's serene Evening song and Robert Schumann's Talismane for double choir. The stirring words of Goethe's poem are superbly reflected in Schumann's setting which will be sung in German:

God is the Orient!
God is the Occident!
Northern and southern lands
Rest in the peace of his hands.

Contrasting organ solos from Malcolm Riley complete an unmissable evening's entertainment.
