  1. Requiem in D minor Op 48 - Gabriel Fauré
  2. 4 motets sur des thèmes grégoriens Op 10 - Maurice Duruflé
  3. Sanctus - Ola Gjeilo

Ad Libitum's November concert features works by two great French composers of the 19th and 20th centuries. Fauré said his sublime Requiem was '...dominated from beginning to end by a very human feeling of faith in eternal rest.' Maurice Duruflé's Quatre motets sur des thèmes grégoriens, written in 1960, are gems among his few published works.

We also feature a piece by contemporary Norwegian composer, Ola Gjeilo. Sanctus has been described as 'atmospheric and intense, featuring contrasts of ethereal melody lines'. The composer says it was inspired by a song from the 90s by singer-songwriter Sting (but leaves you to guess which...)

We hope you will join us for an evening of exciting music, and maybe a glimpse of paradise...
