Mezzo–Soprano Anna Stéphany and Baritone Benedict Nelson are regarded highly among some of the country’s leading young artists. Both have performed in the UK and abroad with international conductors and are winners of a large corpus of competitions. The German folk ballads and legends have been a source of inspiration to musicians over the centuries; these songs remain an important contribution to the genre as well as being central to Mahler’s legacy. Tonight they will be accompanied by acclaimed pianist Marc Verter. |
