Where: Great Hall, The Cornerstone of Creativity and Community, Hope College at Everton, Liverpool
Concert Title: From Handel to Hope - an Evening of English Choral Music
Performers: The London Oratory School Schola
Note: A concert to mark the joint work of Bishop David Sheppard and Archbishop Derek Worlock. The evening will feature a collection of English choral pieces, including Handel’s Coronation Anthems.

The London Oratory School Schola is coming to Liverpool by special invitation. One of the country’s leading liturgical and commercial boys’ choirs, it has been invited by Liverpool Hope University to give a concert in memory of the joint work of the late Bishop David Sheppard and Archbishop Derek Worlock.

The Schola, a choir 55 strong, is directed by Lee Ward, himself a Liverpudlian. The Schola’s weekend visit will be very much in the ecumenical spirit for which the two bishops were so well known: in addition to this concert, it will give performances at both Liverpool’s great cathedrals on Sunday 14th September. At Liverpool Cathedral’s Evensong at 3pm and at the 11am Solemn Mass at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. See separate entries for details.
Ticket Prices: £10 (£7 Concessions, £8 friends of the Schola) - Tickets available from the box office 0151 291 3578 (Mon to Fri 10am to 4pm)
