Praised by the New York Times for his great flair and virtuosity and the London Times - a masterly recital, John Lenehan’s performances and recordings have been acclaimed throughout the world. As a soloist he has made many appearances with British Orchestras and his innovative recital programmes often include film projection and jazz repertoire. In a performing career spanning more than 25 years John Lenehan has also collaborated with leading instrumentalists and is recognised as one of the finest accompanists and chamber musicians of today. During the past few years he has performed in major concert halls in London, Amsterdam, Vienna, Salzburg, New York, Washington, Toronto, Seoul and Tokyo.
John Lenehan has recorded more than fifty CDs – most recently three discs for Sony Classical of minimalist piano music. Other solo discs include John Ireland’s piano music (the third volume of a complete edition is due out soon on Naxos) and a disc of Erik Satie. Recently John performed concertos by Mozart and Shostakovich with the renowned Sinfonia Varsovia at the Evian Festival. He is also active as a composer and has written and arranged on CD for Kennedy, Angelika Kirchschlager, Julian Lloyd Webber, Tasmin Little, Emma Johnson and the King of Thailand!
Since winning first prize in the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition Leland Chen has continually distinguished himself as an exciting presence in the musical world.
