Saturday evening’s concert is chock-a-block with tunes! Mendelssohn’s perennial favourite, the Italian Symphony, is a work full of joie-de-vivre and energy which contrasts beautifully with Stephen Stirling’s performance of Strauss’s Horn Concerto, arguably the greatest work composed for that instrument. With Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture opening the concert, this is the perfect concert for a summer evening. Disabled customers who require assistance are entitled to a complimentary ticket for a companion. |
