Note: Now considered as, arguably, Britain’s foremost festival of pre-Classical music, the Lufthansa Festival of Baroque Music this year focuses not on the music of a particular nation but on a singular, and singularly optimistic, theme. Under the Festival’s new Artistic Director, Lindsay Kemp, The Triumph of Peace is celebrated in a wide range of programmes given mostly at St John’s, Smith Square by a hand-picked selection of some of the most renowned practitioners of historically informed performance practice from all over Europe.
