Note:
We are delighted to be able to present a special celebratory concert to mark the 150th anniversary of Leeds Town Hall.
Taking place on the actual anniversary weekend of the opening of Leeds Town Hall by Queen Victoria, this choral and orchestral concert involves music and performers especially associated with the City's rich musical heritage. Commissioned for and first performed at the 1931 Leeds Festival, Walton's energetic oratorio Belshazzar's Feast highlights the City's two great choirs. Accompanied by the Orchestra of Opera North, the winner of the last Leeds International Pianoforte Competition, Sunwook Kim, returns to the scene of his triumph to perform Grieg's evergreen Piano Concerto.
