Note: The sound of military bands and an army of Welsh voices will be heard on Saturday 17th May at Carmarthenshire’s annual flag-waving, roof-raising musical extravaganza, the Llanelli Proms 2008.

A battalion of artists will take the stage for this year’s patriotic festival of Welsh and British music. Under the baton of Founder and Director, John Hywel Williams MBE, artists will include the world famous The Regimental Band of the Royal Welsh, the massed voices of the Hywel Girls’ Choir, Hywel Boy Singers, Llanelli Choral Society and guest choirs, soprano Adele O’Neill and accompanist Jean Hywel.

Now in its 10th successful year, audiences are promised a roof-raising, flag-waving extravaganza with programme highlights to include Rule Britannia, Jerusalem, Battle Hymn of the Republic, Land of Hope and Glory, war time favourites, enchanting classics, heart pounding Welsh hymns and magical moments from film and stage...to name but a few.
