Robert Aldwinckle will conduct one of the shorter of Handel’s operas from the harpsichord. First performed in London in 1740, it describes in an amusing fashion, the dilemma of its heroine, Rosmene, with the decision as to which lover she will accept - Imeneo or Tirinto. The Festival will be collaborating with the company Baroque Encounter and both performances will be accompanied by a baroque orchestra. |
